GEOGRAPHY
Egypt covers an area of about one million square kilometers and is bordered to the north by the Mediterranean, the Red Sea to the east, and Libya to the west and shares the southern border with the Sudan.

LANGUAGE
Arabic is the official language. English and French and German are widely spoken.

PEOPLE & RELIGION
Egypt has a population of approx. 70 million: 90% Arabs & 10% other. Islam is the dominant religion approx 85%. For Christianity, the majority is from the Coptic Church and they are approx 15% living together in peace

PASSPORTS & VISAS
Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the period of intended stay required by all, Visas are required by all. For British, American, Canadian, German, Swiss and some other nationalities Egyptian entry visa could be obtained upon arrival at Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor, Aswan, Hurghada and Marsa Alam airports against charges USD 15 /PASSPORT.

FREE ZONES & VISAS
Visa also required for arrivals at Sharm El Sheikh and or Taba airports but issued automatically for free of charge, shall you travel out of the FREES ZONES (Taba and Sharm El Sheikh) for example to Cairo, Luxor or etc a visa required against charge USD 15/PASSPORT.

CLIMATE
Egypt’s location within the North African desert belt, between the Mediterranean and the 23rd parallel north of the Equator, means that it is characterized by low annual rainfall as well as sunshine throughout the year Within Egypt, there is the contrast between the coastal Mediterranean climate and the hot dryness of the interior, however in these desert areas there is a sharp of contrast between day and night temperatures.The winter months of January and February can be quite cool especially in the area of the Delta and the Mediterranean. However, the further south one goes, the higher the temperature and the lower the humidity will become.

WHAT TO WEAR
Our visitors to Egypt are guests and are made to feel most welcome. You are requested when visiting Holy sites to observe the Egyptian customs which might include wearing a head covering and modest attire.

Flash photography and video camera are not allowed at many Egyptian sights and some monumental sights against charges approx USD 10-20 to allow you enter with your camera

TRANSPORTATION
Egypt has a very good system of private transport. Domestic air travel is the quickest way to get around. And sleeper trains connecting Cairo with Luxor and Aswan and a recommended experience being in Egypt for at least one way.
